We here at The Mountaineer are just winding down from a fun-filled, super-busy Mountainfest weekend! While some folks were worried about ice conditions in the days leading up to the ‘Fest, cold weather locked into place right in time for the weekend, and the climbing clinics enjoyed comfortable climbing temperatures and great ice conditions. We were lucky to have some truly world-class guest climbers here this year – Aaron Mulkey from Wyoming, and Vince Anderson from Colorado. The Friday and Saturday night slideshows had great attendance – and we were thrilled to see the amount of food donations for the Keene Food Pantry that were donated by our fellow climbers. Sunday’s “local’s night” slideshow was a big hit – Doug Millen from NEice.com had the crowd roaring with his retro climbing shots from the Northeast and beyond. More food donations poured in on Sunday – again, we thank the climbing community for coming together for a good cause! And there was a free keg to boot!
Thanks again for another spectacular weekend, and don’t miss the 12th Annual Backcountry Ski Festival in March. See you soon!
