Backcountry Skiing Movie Night @ The Mountaineer Dec. 19th

Come on down to the Mountaineer on December 19th, 7pm for an evening of deep powder  all the way from Japan.  Dynafit, manufacturer of fine mountaineering and ski touring equipment, will sponsor the Backcountry Ski Movie, “Signatures”.  Admission will be $10 and raffles will include a pair of Dynafit bindings, yes a lucky attendee will win a fancy new pair of bindings!

This backcountry ski film, shot from deep in the coastal mountains of Niseko, Hokkaido, is full of remote freeride lines, deep powder and mountain culture. Amongst Japan’s northern hardwoods, along a misty coastline, Signatures tells a story of seasonal shifts and the snowy brushstrokes of renowned alpine athletes. With breathtaking cinematography, Signatures documents the relationships of local snowsurfers, photographers and riders to mountain, sea and season. Recent winner of Best Cinematography at the International Freeski Film Festival.

The Mountaineer will also be hosting a Ski Mountaineering Camp with Dynafit and Mammut on Feburary 5th through the 7th. The Adirondack Back Country Ski Festival (the 8th annual) will take place on March 6 & 7 also in Keene Valley. Information on these events can be found online at www.mountaineer.com or by calling 518 576 2281.
