Final High Peaks Fly Fishing Report 9/3

This will serve as the last “Fishing Report” of the Summer.  As of September 1st, The “Ausable’s” are flowing at approx. 150cfs. Air temps will jump this week, with high’s in the mid to upper 80’s. Water temps are hovering around 65 and will increase with warmer air temps. Keep an eye on water levels and temps as things will come back around for the Fall and the fish will get hungry again…and less “snooty” 😉

Mountain streams for Brook Trout are in good shape and running cool. Basic Streamers and Wet Flies will draw out these native fish.

Try Adams Parachutes (14-18), Elk Hair Caddis (16-18) or Stims same size, Hoppers and Beetles (10-12)to undercuts and structure and, as always, Black BH Wooly Buggers (8-10) and Muddler Minnows (10-12).

Products of the week are from our new vendor Fishpond, The Medicine Bow Chest Pack and Barracuda Aluminum Clippers…check ‘em out!

FREE Fly Casting Lessons are finished for the year!  Thanks for all who attended this Summer…I hope we were able to show you that you CAN learn this great sport.

This week’s recommended products feature our new vendor Fishpond.
