Fly Fishing Conditions 7/1/14

Posted by Mike Kaz

The West Branch of the Ausable is at around 500cfs. This is still an above-average water level for this time of year, but it is running clear and at a good temp…but it is warming with these hot days of summer. Mid-Day water temps are pushing 68+ degrees. Size 8-10 BH Wooly Buggers (Black), 8-10 CH Marabou Muddlers (White), Weighted Muddlers size 8-10 and Yellow Stonefly Nymphs. Adams Parachutes 14-16 Hendricksons 12-14

BH HE Nymphs and PT Nymphs are productive as well.

Please fish early AM or late PM so as to preserve the fishery. Trout don’t handle the warmer temps that well…so wet a line for Bass or Pike in any one of the great warm water fisheries we have access to!

World Famous FREE Casting Clinics Wednesday nights through the end of August…be sure to come by. All abilities welcome! PLEASE CALL AHEAD IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING, thanks!
