Fly Fishing Conditions 8/6/14

Posted August 6th by Mike Kaz

The West Branch of the Ausable is around 800cfs (dropping slowly) and running a little cloudy due to some rain Monday. This will clear up as the week wears on as some clear weather is forecasted.  Still very fishable with mid-day water temps at approx. 60-65deg.  Evenings are most productive…

BWO Parachutes 14-18, Yellow Stims 12-16. Adams Parachutes 16-18 are productive as well as terrestrials in Yellow and Green Hoppers and Large Beetles(8-10)…fished over the undercuts near the riverbank or near downed trees.

Bass and Pike Fishing is heating up too…large red or chartreuse poppers for Bass fished to structure and stripped out while large streamers will have the Pike chasing.

World Famous FREE Casting Clinics Wednesday nights through the end of August…be sure to come by. All abilities welcome!

PLEASE CALL AHEAD IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING as summer storms/weather will have us postpone, Thanks!
