The Mountaineer is happy to report that the Great Adirondack Trail Run trophy has been returned to it’s rightful home. Owner Vinny McClelland had to fight his way out of the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery clinging to the trophy, which last year’s winner Sarah Keyes, like her Viking predecessors, had claimed as a spoil of war. McClelland reportedly had to fight off several Boston Bruins who were at the Pub for 2-fer Tuesday. “I didn’t mean to take Chara out but he was trying to block my exit and if I had failed in my mission to get the trophy home to The Mountaineer we would have some very disappointed runners on June 14th when the 10th Annual Great Adirondack Trail Run blasts off,” McClelland explained.
