Role at The Mountaineer: Vinny helped cut down the trees that were milled for the lumber that built the store and hammered the nails in 1974. He now manages the store for the McClelland family along with the store’s department managers.
Favorite product sold at The Mountaineer: Backcountry skis. Backcountry skiing has to be the most fun way of climbing and exploring the mountains that I can imagine.
Notable outdoor adventures: Vinny lived in Alaska for many years which were filled with climbing, mountaineering, skiing and sailing adventures. Ask for a good story and you’ll get one!
Fondest memory in the Adirondack Park: Following my father, leading (and now chasing) my kids through the mountains.
When you’re not working, what are you doing? Backcountry skiing, trail running, hiking, helping the Adirondack Community Trust, coaching high school soccer and other non-profit work.
Favorite food after a long day in the mountains: Beer.
